Rapha Cycle Club cafe & a Twitter moment:

Rapha2

You know what?

I flippin' bloomin' chuffin' love Twitter.

(Can I say that?)

Last week, I was staying handily near the new Rapha pop-up cafe/club in Clerkenwell Road.

Hence this tweet.

When I'd got my caffe and croissant and sat down, out of the Bleu, the bloke next to me said, "Hello, are you Mike Coulter", although, spookily and correctly I heard it as: "are you...@mikecoulter"

WTF?

Seasoned old Twitter pro that he was, this chap had been wandering around Twitter with his iPhone, seeing if anyone was mentioned the cafe in real-time.

He saw my tweet as I walked in and figured out/guessed it was it's author.

Bob's your Fausto Coppi as we chatted I discovered that @markpinsent, (for it t'was he) is a Social (Media) Worker like me, however he lives in the much more bike friendly west of France, but comes over here to see clients, and hang out in the Rapha Club. (Sensible chap.)

I think it's a great example of the power of Twitter.

We both had to a do a little bit of 'work' feeding the puppy.

Me putting tweet out, Mark picking it up.

But what a return on 20 seconds of effort from both of us:

I made a brilliant new contact/acquittance/pal, we discussed photography, endurance cycling, (he's doing The Giant of Provence soon, whereas it did me a few years back), social media, iPhone apps, good coffee, France, motherlondon, Microsoft and a whole lot more.

Without Twitter it simply wouldn't have happened.

Awesome.

Zippy. Not too happy with herself:

One of the problems/challeges with having Jack Russells is there're always getting into mischief, scrapes, adventures.

Fearless, tough and adorable. (And that's just @carolcoulter their Mum.)

Zippy has just come back from yet another hefty vets bill.

She had a bit of a do on the beach last week with her son Munky.

Munky is a bit of a psychopath I'm afraid, and his Mum got a whack in the eye. Sand in the wound didn't help, hence several vets visit called for.

Munky
When he was younger we had a season ticket to the Vet with Munky Boy. This is from a framed pic on our wall, of the last time he came off worst in a punch-up with a Staffy. He nearly lost his tail. I grabbed him so he couldn't get to grips with Bull Terrier so Munky decided to take second best route and bite me. (Oh how I love this dog.) ;- Consequentlly, we've got quite a collection of those head buckets dogs wear when recouperating. In fact I wear them myself from time to time.

We thought he was quieting down a bit.

Yeah, right.
